It has been a while since I have commented on the state of the planet's energy. This is because it has been shifting so quickly that it has been hard, even for me, to put my finger on it. Over the last several months, I have finally identified a pattern which is affecting all of us. By discussing its impact upon us I hope it will help to ease your mind and sooth your soul.
Let me ask a few questions regarding your experience of the world in recent days. Has life been challenging? Have you noticed that one day, you feel calm, clear and focused, with moments of extreme clarity? Have you also noticed that these wonderful days tend to be quickly followed by days of anxiety, brain fog and confusion? Do you feel great one day with your emotions running high and your life feeling like it is back on track again? Then before you know it, your emotions are back down again, leaving you in the depths of despair.
The changes you have been experiencing, where you find yourself moving through cycles of highs and lows can only make you wonder if there is something wrong. You may have found yourself conjecturing - "Is it Me?" Well, I am here to tell you, NO, it is not you! It is you matching the energy and vibration on the planet right now.
There are a number of things that can be contributing to this erratic rollercoaster ride we are on. One is fear. We are surrounded by a multitude of things to worry about including: unemployment, the sagging economy, rising food prices, 2012, the H1N1 virus and the potential of government run health care. Many of us are afraid we will lose what we have. If we have already experience a loss in our lives, we worry if we will ever recover and enjoy the life and lifestyle we experienced in the past again.
There are those who point their finger to the upcoming end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. According to Mayan calendar theorists, we are experiencing an increase in the vibrational frequency on the planet. It is this amplification in vibration that is believed to make time seem as if it is going faster. This leaves us feeling as if we will never have enough time to take care of business. To make up for this sense of missing time, we find ourselves running around frantically just to get a few basic tasks accomplished. This leaves us feeling totally exhausted. In retrospect, we cannot understand how getting a few simple things done in the past seemed so easy to achieve.
Another phenomena that adds to the uncomfortable dynamic we are experiencing is that many people just don't know what to do anymore. We have dug deep into our bag of tricks, and for whatever reason, try to use the same ones over and over again. Unfortunately, many of us are beginning to realize that these tricks are no longer working. The successes we had using them in the past are not producing the same results in the present.
Like in the game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", we have phoned a friend, cut our choices down to 50-50 and polled the audience as to the appropriate steps to take next. Now we feel as if our life lines have been exhausted and there is no place to turn.
Needless to say, life on planet Earth hasn't been very fun lately.
In a recent conversation with Mel Minitor of LightStream Productions, Mel shared a comment made by his cousin Dannion Brinkley regarding this period in history. Dannion's remark was "We need to ride it out". What did Dannion mean by that? This is my interpretation. There is very little we can do to change the what we are experiencing right now. We can, however, recognize that everything comes in cycles. There is a start, a middle and an end to every cycle. Where we are in this cycle is hard to say... I do know, nonetheless, that it will end. It has no choice but to end. Whether it is today, tomorrow, next week, next month or next year, is anyone's guess.
There is something else I would like to bring to the table. As I discussed earlier, many of us have come to discover that what we have been doing in the past is not working anymore. Over the last few years we have had our lives turned over in more ways than one. We have moved through, and hopefully cleared, more energy collectively and on personal levels than at any other time in our lives.
The question I would like for you to ask yourself is "Where haven't I gone?" The answer? We have not faced our resistance. Take a moment and ask yourself, "What can I do, or should I be doing?" Then check in with yourself and explore the items that you instinctively say, "I'm not going there!" This IS your resistance rearing its ugly head.
The definition of resistance is the act or power of resisting, opposing or withstanding. We all resist things in our lives. Sitting down and filling out our tax forms is something many of us resist. We know we have to do them but we often put them off until the last possible moment. It is not that we have forget about them. Instead, there is a part of us that just doesn't want to.
There are a number of reasons why we experience resistance in our lives. Sometimes the cause is the fear of new things. We might not like to experience change in our lives. In turn, there might be parts of our psyche that is not in agreement with the concepts or changes we want to bring in. Our resistance is that part of ourselves that is fighting diligently to keep it out.
Regardless of the reasons why we may be resisting change in our lives, the reality is, resistance requires a lot of personal energy to keep the status quo. By addressing our resistance we can free up a great deal of our personal energy and make it available for us to use.
I'll bet as you read the question earlier about what you are resisting a few thoughts came quickly to mind. I'll also bet it is not the first time this thought or idea has made itself known to you. Like our taxes, what we resist doesn't go away. We might choose not look at it or decide to push it to the back of our consciousness, but in the end it will always reemerge - especially when we ask ourselves "what should I do now?"
At this point in our personal history many of us are at our wits end. Perhaps it is time to acknowledge and address our resistance. It is often the last place we will ever look for answers, but answers right now seem far and few between.
Our resistance is like looking into Pandora's Box. Pandora and her box can be found in Greek mythology. According to the myth, Pandora was never to open the box given to her by Zeus. If she did, all of the evils, ills, diseases, and burdensome labor that mankind had not known previously would escape and fill the world. An often untold and overlooked part of the myth is the fact that it goes on to say that at the very bottom of her box there lay hope.
We create our own negative or false beliefs that keep us from opening our own Pandora's box. We believe it is better to keep them locked up as opposed to potentially dealing with the evils inside. But the negativity seen when looking into the box is of our own creation. What we often forget is at the bottom of the box is hope.
So please, take some time and look at what you are resisting in your life. Take the time to open your own Pandora's box and let out the last bit of your fears and insecurities. As you move through the energy you have been resisting over the years, know that there is hope... hope for a better you and a better tomorrow.
